GBR State Singles

With a new sectional format and record entries the State Singles held at Sale BC over 3 Sunday’s was guaranteed to produce some excellent bowling. Our youngest ever entrant, 13 year old Ayla Romanin finished 2nd in her section defeating Janelle Abraham 25-21 and going down to eventual champion Jo Martin 18-25.

Sunday the men’s round of 16 and men’s and women’s quarter finals were played. This set the stage for a huge final day with the semi finals and final in both events.
Day 3
Shane Holmes v Bert Middelhuis – Shane 25-5
Brad Lancaster v Dennis O’Keefe – Brad 25-15
Jo Martin v Kirstie White – Jo 25-20
Julie Simic v Leonie Flynn – Julie 25-24 , an epic game with Julie drawing shot with the last bowl played.
Shane Holmes just kept fining answers to Brad Lancaster’s bowls and went on to win the final 25-19
Jo Martin won her final over a gallant Julie Simic. 25-5, once again Jo answering every challenge Julie threw at her.
